Le ténor italien Luciano Pavarotti, hospitalisé mercredi dans un hôpital de Modène (nord de l’Italie), “va mieux” et devrait quitter l’établissement “dans les prochains jours”, a indiqué vendredi son épouse Nicoletta Mantovani après lui avoir rendu visite.

“Il va mieux”, a déclaré Nicoletta Mantovani aux journalistes qui l’attendaient à la sortie de l’hôpital. Selon elle, son mari quittera l’établissement “certainement dans les prochains jours”.

Le plus célèbre des ténors italiens, âgé de 71 ans, a été hospitalisé mercredi soir “en raison d’un état fiévreux”, avait indiqué jeudi dans un bulletin de santé l’hôpital de Modène, affirmant que son état de santé était “satisfaisant” et qu’il allait pouvoir sortir “dans les prochains jours”.

Le chanteur d’opéra n’est plus apparu en public depuis une intervention pour un cancer du pancréas en juillet 2006. Il y a un mois, lors d’une cérémonie musicale en l’honneur du ténor sur l’île d’Ischia près de Naples (sud), son épouse avait indiqué que son mari se sentait bien et préparait un disque.
